Chundeep & Ritesh: Indian Wedding Photographer and Videographer

Chundeep and Ritesh had a fantastic, fun-packed day, celebrating their wedding at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa and we were there as their Indian wedding photographer and videographer. The couple were both keen to honour their religious heritage. Chun is Sikh and Ritz Hindu, so they were married in a Sikh ceremony in Dubai and had Hindu and civil ceremonies at The Mere. The civil ceremony was one of the most special moments for them as they had written their own personalised vows with deep emotional resonance for them both.

Chun and Ritz – The Wedding Trailer from Viva La Wedding on Vimeo.

Their vision for the day was strongly influenced by Chundeep’s late mother. Chun grew up steeped in her mother’s Punjabi culture and great love of Bollywood films, so she was clear that she wanted to do her wedding shopping in India. Contending with the notorious Delhi traffic in 48 degree heat was tough, but Chun found her beautiful wedding jewellery in the very same store her mother used to frequent, so it was worth the journey. She also found her perfect wedding outfit in the nick of time, just hours before the flight home. I absolutely adore her hot pink gown with gold embroidery and the bold colour was perfectly complemented by Ritz’s ivory suit with its pink and gold detailing. Their couple shots are just dreamy. They look so in love, which is just gorgeous to see and I love that joy and humour coming through in the pictures. Stunning, guys!

The bridesmaids’ ivory skirts and baby pink blouses were so elegant and they too had plenty of fun posing for the photo shoot, which was great! During the wedding breakfast, the couple played old Bollywood songs from their parents’ generation. The evening party saw a change of outfit and we were able to capture some more stunning shots. Their guests were really up for a party and there was plenty of dancing and good times. This was an awesome wedding brimming with love, fun and feelgood vibes. Congratulations guys, we are truly honoured to be chosen as your Indian wedding photographer and videographer!

Sara & Ehsan: Bröllopsvideo Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden

Guille and David had the pleasure of going over to Stockholm last summer to film Sara and Ehsan’s wedding video, or should we say Bröllopsvideo Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden! You can view the video here and if you want any tips on how to make your proposal super romantic, look no further! Sara tells us more below:

Sara and Ehsan: Bröllopsvideo Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden from Viva La Wedding on Vimeo.

What was it like planning your wedding?
It was stressful at first since we had trouble finding a suitable venue but once we had that part sorted out it was a lot of fun! I’m really organized and a control freak so I can imagine it was easy peasy for Ehsan lol!

What was the most memorable/special part of the day for you?
I’m answering for both of us now but probably when we saw each other for the first time before the photoshoot.

Were you nervous?
Not as much as I thought – same for Ehsan. We were very chilled and relaxed.

Did everything go according to plan?
Yes – everything besides the weather – so we had to hire a big glass tent the day before for all our guests. The photoshoot also became a bit stressful since we had a storm in the middle of July believe it or not!

Were there any funny/emotional moments that stand out for you?
When the wedding officiant asked Ehsan to say yes and he answered 150 % yes – and I topped that with 200% yes!

How did you prepare for your first dance?
We practised a lot at home since Ehsan wanted to have the whole traditional dance whereas I wasn’t so keen so it became a mix of Persian and western dance styles.

Tell us about the proposal!
We had bought our first apartment together and we were going to visit it after work. It was just a regular Monday. Ehsan got the keys and picked me up after work. Then we bought my favourite food and were planning to just sit on the floor in the new apartment and eat. When I came in he had put a bottle of Don Perignon and put a camera in the kitchen – I first thought it was the realtor that was nice but then I went into the bedroom and saw this huge heart on the floor made of rose petals and when I turned around Ehsan went down on his knees and proposed. He wanted to start our new beginning in that apartment in a special way and he succeeded. He filmed it all too so we have it in our film!

Are there any other special little touches you planned that you’d like to tell us about?
Oh a lot – practically everything I made myself, the Persian wedding spread, the decorations on the table, the giftbox, the wooden sign, all the wooden signs hanging around the area, the table number signs, all the jars on the tables, the candyjars/nametags. I love to get creative!

Were there any surprises?
Yes – we had a friend of ours dancing for us – a mix of European and Middle Eastern belly dancing and then we had a fire show!

Do you want to give a special mention to anyone who really helped a lot in planning your day?
Yes – Caroline Simonsson at Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden was a huge support when we were planning our wedding

Why was having a wedding film important to you?
We are Persian =) hahaha, no but jokes aside our wedding film or Bröllopsvideo Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden lets us relive that special day in a way that pictures just can’t fulfil.

What did you enjoy most about your finished wedding film?
That Viva la Wedding were invisible and didn’t bother anyone. Our Bröllopsvideo Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden told a story. It was natural, captured such amazing details and the high quality was so impressive.

Denise & Yeoman: Midland Hotel Wedding Video, Manchester

Back in September, Denise and Yeoman asked us to produce a Midland Manchester wedding Video for them. It promised to be an unforgettable wedding experience full of fun, emotion…and hard rock! and it certainly delivered on all fronts!

What was it like planning your wedding?
The wedding planning was a far greater feat than I personally first imagined but it was made that much easier knowing my now wife, Denise, had such a specific vision on how she wanted the big day. We were incredibly lucky to have such support from both sides of the family, and this team effort made everything run like clockwork. Denise’s vision however was hindered by her very time consuming job of being a doctor, thus having me action and push everything was extremely important, and of course my attention to detail and opinions were needed. Anther point to consider was that every single person we hired and worked with towards this big day were/was so helpful and such great people that it really lightened the stress load which was very important.

Midland manchester wedding bride and groom getting readyWhat was the most memorable/special part of the day for you?

Yeoman: for me it was seeing Denise for the first time in her wedding gown entering the ceremony room in the Trafford suite of the Midland hotel and walking down the aisle. I was gobsmacked in awe of how gorgeous she looked… A very emotional point in the day.

Were you nervous?

Yeoman: I would consider myself someone with a huge amount of confidence due to being a lead guitarist in a local rock band, and to be honest 98% of the day I was completely fine…. The 2% where I wasn’t exactly fine was waiting for Denise to arrive and walk down the aisle, and just before I got on stage to sing for Denise, something which that i have never done before in my life is singing in front of an audience… that was extremely nerve wrecking for me.

Did everything go according to plan?

Most of the day went to plan, there were a few mishaps but these were considered minor in the grand scheme of things. If i was to give any advice to couples fro their big day is to just enjoy it and soak everything in… Do not let any mishaps spoil which is for certain you and your partners bigday.

Were there any funny/emotional moments that stand out for you?

One huge emotional moment was the mother of the bride speech which was also funny! My mother in law is a very well spoken, strong and generally serious person but her speech came out as funny and heart warming. Also my epic 4 hour speech which I wish someone would have thrown something at me to stop haha…

How did you prepare for your first dance?

I have always wanted to take some form of ballroom dancing, and for our wedding I really did not want to look silly and inadequate in front of so many people therefore we took professional dance lessons but only around 4, 2 hour lessons where we choreographed the entire dance. I found i was much better than i thought i would be. Denise found it difficult to remember the dance itself but I knew every step and was able to guide her. I think in the video you can even see me telling her what was coming next haha…..

Super 8 Wedding Videography: Beth & Richard

If you are looking for some vintage inspiration then this could be just what you were looking for. Beth and Richard asked us to deliver them a Super 8 wedding and we were more than happy to oblige! For those of you who may not know what a Super 8 wedding camera is, it uses actual film. It comes in rolls and we have to have it developed in Germany but boy is it worth it.  It gives a grainy, nostalgic personality to your film that somehow makes you feel as though you are viewing your wedding day through a time machine!

What was it like planning your wedding?

Pretty much everything was booked and chosen within 3 months of the proposal, so we just had to sit back and wait for a year! I wanted to use local and small companies where possible and the personal relationship that it forges meant that planning was a pleasant experience. Viva la Wedding was a company that had produced the video of Laura’s wedding (my bridesmaid / Richard’s sister) a couple of years previously. The friendliness and efficiency of Jo’s email communication coupled with Guille’s skill and professionalism when we met at his studio removed any doubt of us choosing another company.

The unusual ceremony and reception venue was a actually a private school only 15 minutes drive from home. I wanted a civil ceremony because one of our close friends is a Registrar and could conduct the wedding. The ceremony was relaxed and intimate, with a few laughs, which was exactly how we wanted it to be. With the details I tried to give a few nods to the fact that we were getting married in a school, rather than to try and pretend that it was a normal wedding venue.

Wedding Videography, Min Hae & Tom at Iscoyd Park

We were delighted when Min Hae & Tom chose Viva La Wedding for their wedding videographers. They were married at Iscoyd Park, a venue we know pretty well and where we have done wedding videography before, stunning!

Their day was a truly romantic occasion with a very emotional ceremony and heartfelt speeches. They were keen to tell how they met and the simple romance of their touching story was a joy to edit!
