At Viva la Wedding we are passionate about telling the story of your wedding day in beautiful cinematic moving images. Our award-winning videographers capture the essence and emotion of your wedding in a way that other media can’t. Our priority is to be discreet and put you at ease so you can concentrate on enjoying your day.
We edit your video with style and sensitivity, to a soundtrack of your choice, allowing your personalities to come to the fore. The result is an elegant, cinematic wedding video which truly stands out from the competition.
Booking
When you choose to book with us, the process is very simple. We ask for a booking fee of 25% of the final cost, with the balance to be paid before your wedding date. When you book we also ask you to sign our terms and conditions document and complete a short questionnaire about your wedding.
Around one month to two weeks before your wedding date, we organise a pre-wedding meeting. This is a chance to run through the schedule of your day and finalise any details of what you would like us to film. For instance, if there are any special traditions you’d like us to capture or particular relatives that you want to see on the video, we are happy to take note. This is also a chance for us to get to know you better so that we can bring out your personality and humour in your cinematic wedding video. We welcome your creative input, so if there is a particular type of shot you’d really like to have, you can let us know.
Wedding Day
On your wedding day we are always discreet. “We hardly noticed you were there!” is a frequent comment from couples. We know it’s your day and we respect the importance of the occasion by staying in the background. This said, we want to make sure we capture some exquisite footage of the bride and groom, so at one point in the day we will film a cinematic sequence of romantic shots. This is a chance for brides to swirl their dresses, grooms to sweep you off your feet in a 1940s style kiss and couples to collapse in fits of giggles! Whether you’re an extrovert or a little camera-shy, our videographers will put you at your ease, and show you in your best light. We think you’ll agree, there are some fantastic examples among the wedding video highlights in our portfolio.
The final cut
We use music of your choice for the soundtrack and the final DVD is fully mastered with scene selection, just like a film you would buy in the shops. We always include a highlights video, around three to five minutes of the most beautiful footage from the whole day, set to one song. It’s a bit like seeing a pop video of your wedding, and it’s great for sharing with friends and family via social media. Your final DVD or Blu ray is presented in an attractive case with a picture disc with still images from your wedding film.
At Viva la Wedding, we like to be at the cutting edge of both technology and creativity . We consider ourselves to be artists, but with that touch of technical geekery that helps keep us at the top of our game! Whilst we are committed to investing in the latest equipment, we are also convinced that the best camera doesn’t necessarily guarantee you the best final product. That’s why we put so much effort into the human and artistic side of videography, placing great importance on composition, colour, light, motion, etc… After all, a great camera is only as good as the operator behind it.

This said, we are totally in love with our kit. Last year we decided to be bold and embrace a revolution which has changed the landscape of film-making and videography; the DSLR revolution. What is it? Well, in a nutshell, it’s the possibility to film video footage with DSLR cameras (photo cameras). The first one of these cameras (Canon 5DMark II) came out three years ago and took the world by storm. Why? (geek alert!)First and foremost, the image quality is to die for. The larger sensors of these cameras allow for greater depth of field or DOF (which allows the main subject to be in focus and the rest of the image out of focus, like in films). It’s this point in particular which allows us to capture a more cinematic footage. the small size of the camera allows us to be more discreet and at the same time create shots which were unthinkable with larger cameras. The list of advantages is endless. What does this mean to you as bride and groom? Well, you get a film with vastly improved image quality, and your day is not obstructed by the old-style bulky cameras.
Which other equipment do we use? Besides the usual tripods, audio recorders and a huge variety of different lenses, there’s a piece of equipment that we’ve grown very fond of because of its versatility and the beautiful shots that we get with it. It’s called a ‘slider’.
So what’s this? Basically, It’s just a rail system that allows us to place the camera on top and slide it along. The result is a smooth ‘travelling’ shoot which looks truly stunning. The only downside is that it needs an object in the foreground to serve as a reference for the movement, so don’t be surprised if you see us lying down on the floor and placing flowers and all kinds of stuff in front of the camera!
We also use other equipment but I won’t bore you with an exhaustive list. What matters most is that we use whatever kit is necessary to achieve the idea that we have in mind. At the end of the day, a camera is a camera, what’s important is how you use it!
