“Those close to me know that I’m not the best at showing emotion, in fact I’m probably the worst. But there’s something different about Sara…”

Sara & Mohammed: Thornton Manor, Cheshire from Viva La Wedding on Vimeo.

Mohammed’s heartfelt words say so much about this gorgeous couple and the story that we were able to share with them and their family.

Sara and Mo knew from the start that they wanted to book the Viva team for their Muslim wedding photography and cinematography. Almost exactly a year to the day, we had filmed and photographed the wedding of Sara’s sister Yousr, so we pretty much felt like part of the family already!

The couple had two days of celebration.

Starting with the Muslim Mohar ceremony, which was held at Britannia Country House Hotel in Didsbury. They honoured their Middle-Eastern heritage by observing special traditions such as rubbing together pieces of sugar onto a cloth over the bride’s head to sweeten

the marriage.

Three days later it was off to the splendour of Thornton Manor, a hidden gem of the Wirral, for the civil ceremony. We captured some lovely intimate shots at Sara’s parents’ home as she was getting ready, and her beautiful baby niece Laila even got in on the act! Both of Sara’s sisters were supposed to be pregnant at the wedding, but little Laila decided to arrive two weeks early so as not to miss the celebrations!

The couple are very close to their families, so it was really important to them to reflect that in their wedding celebration. One of Sara’s sisters had blue and one silver for their bridal colour schemes, so the natural choice for Sara was to incorporate both colours into her wedding theme. Sara and Mo have great memories of the civil ceremony and it was a very sweet moment when Sara’s nephew Sami came down the aisle wearing a sign that read “Uncle Momo, here comes your bride!” The speeches too were lots of fun and the couple booked an Arabic singer and entertainer who performed all the family’s favourite songs.

The fantastic advantage of Thornton Manor is that it’s so close to the coast which adds a real wow factor to this Muslim wedding photography. I think you’ll agree that these shots of Sara and Mohammed on the beach are just stunning. Sara looks absolutely incredible in her romantic lace gown by Mori Lee, and Mohammed is every bit the smouldering screen icon in these shots! A wonderful family celebration with some perfect memories to treasure. Congratulations Mrs and Mrs Ahmad!
